START A CHAPTER
GET LOCAL
Starting a chapter in your school or community is the best way to get involved in the INHSD. Follow these steps to begin making a difference in your community!

STEP 1
GATHER MEMBERS
Whether it’s at your school or in your community, there are bound to be like-minded high school Democrats. Gather your members and start meeting! If you’re at a school, your chapter may need a teacher to serve as a sponsor.
STEP 2
REGISTER
Once you have your membership, it’s important to register with us. Fill out the Chapter Registration Form and make sure all your members fill out the membership Registration Form. Chapters must register at the beginning of every school year.

STEP 3
JOIN SLACK
Join our Slack to connect with other members and chapters across Indiana. Get up-to-date information, updates, events, and more. Local chapter leaders are granted seats on the State Committee, and Slack is where the committee communicates.
STEP 4
MEET THE E-BOARD
Once your chapter is registered, you’re ready to meet the Executive Board! The board will inform you about all of the resources INHSD can provide, the privileges your chapter has, connecting with local campaigns, and how to effectively run a local chapter.
